Welcome to the homepage of Dr. Kenneth Scheer MD, a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist, in practice since 1970, with special expertise in the area of diagnostic ultrasound. He founded and served as director of the first ultrasound lab in New England at the Boston Lying-In Hospital from 1970 until 1977. He then founded the first out-of-hospital independent ultrasound lab in New England, Ultrasound Diagnostics Inc, which he directed from 1977-2000, during which time he interpreted well over 100,000 scans. He holds a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School, has lectured on and taught ultrasound, has written many journal articles, has served as President of the New England Society for Ultrasound in Medicine and has become a Senior Member of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Dr. Scheer has served as an expert witness in several malpractice cases involving ultrasound in obstetrics and gynecology, offering opinions for both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s side; this is a specialized area of expertise in which he excels.
